Hello, and welcome aboard. This is the first post on the A Short Sail blog, so here is the short version of what the game is.
A cat and a little red boat
You are a little tabby cat. You have a little red boat with a cream sail. The islands need their post, and you are the one who carries it.
What you do
- Carry the island post. Pick up letters and parcels and sail them out to the little islands.
- Fish by day and by night. Cast a line from your boat, and light the lantern after dark.
- Make friends. Stop for a chat with the islanders on every island.
- Fix up Home Cove. Grandpa’s old cottage needs some love.
- Dress up the boat and take photos. Make the boat yours, then take a picture of the view.
There is no combat and there are no timers. You go at your own pace.
How long and when
A Short Sail takes a few hours. It comes out in November 2026 on Steam and itch.io, for PC (Windows), Mac, the web and Steam Deck (Linux).
